Civil Partnership Dissolution/Divorce

O'Neill Patient has been actively involved with issues around same-sex couples for many years prior to the introduction of the Civil Partnership Act in December 2005.

We are a gay-friendly firm and Suzanne works closely with the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) in Manchester. Suzanne is co-author of the "Civil Partnerships - everything lesbian & gay men need to know" and "A guide to your rights for lesbian, gay and bisexual people" produced by the LGF.

Entering into a civil partnership or marriage puts couples on the same legal footing as heterosexual couples in relation to pensions, tax, inheritance and state benefits. Therefore if the relationship breaks down, dissolution/divorce proceedings may be appropriate.

We can advise you on the dissolution/divorce proceedings, financial matters and children issues (see Finances, Children and Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008).

We offer the following fixed fees:

Undefended dissolution/divorce - Petitioner - £700 plus vat and court fee (currently £550.00) Respondent - £350 plus vat Further details and terms upon request.
